Coriolanus - William Shakespeare

If you're into a bit of a challenge, this Elizabethan piece by Shakespeare is a must read!

It's the last tragedy Shakespeare has written, and it's also the last play about ancient Rome.

To keep the synopsis short, it is a story is about a Roman war hero, Gaius Marcius who, -when returned from a victorious battle- is offered the title of consul by the Senate. To earn the title, he has to plead for the votes of the Plebeians. At first Marcius is successful, until two tribunes convince the people that he is an enemy to the people.

It is an intriguing and heartbreaking story, really something to consider to put on your reading list!
Would you have me false to my nature? Rather say I play the man I am.
